Grades 9 - 12
Teens on Broadway!

Whether your high schooler is preparing for a college career in the Arts, headed directly to Broadway, or simply wants to get more instruction in their favorite hobby,  OnStage has a class perfect for them!

Classes begin with exciting theatre warm-up activities and exercises.  All of our activities are musically oriented.  Depending on the nature and age of the class, students then engage in the exploration of improvisation, musical theatre or scene study activities. Fundamental theatre skills such as diction, blocking, and stage directions plus vocal skills, and dance skills are reinforced throughout the rehearsals.

Our goal at OnStage is to provide a fun and creative, yet professional, environment where each child can tap into their imagination and creativity.  We encourage kids to be different and to be themselves.  The idea of “process drama” (where emphasis is placed solely on the instruction) is not our only focus.  We are OnStage - we are about application of instruction to the performance stage.

So go ahead, read further and find a class just perfect for your teen's individual talents!

Musical Theatre 201

This is the second phase of Musical Theater 101 and is by audition only.

We offer a comprehensive curriculum which works together to integrate the three disciplines of Acting, Dance and Music into the actor’s body and technique creating a well-rounded and versatile young actor.  The end result is a performance by the cast.

The faculty is comprised of some of the finest teaching artists and working professionals who specialize in the integration of these three disciplines.  Both old and new musicals are used each semester from Rodgers & Hammerstein to Stephen Schwartz.

The music portion trains the actor in vocal technique, sight singing and ear training.

The dance curriculum consists of the actor developing great choreography skills and/or continuing strong technique in ballet, tap and jazz.  Throughout the dance progression, the curriculum builds to all styles of theatre dance, song and dance and modern dance to further incorporate the actor’s physical body into all areas of their work.  The acting portion incorporates speech and body movement and develops the actor's musical theatre techniques.

This class is intensive, fun, and inspiring
for those who are serious artists.
